Dear WEEE Ireland Member,

I would like to thank all the members who have supported WEEE Ireland over the last five years and extend a special welcome to all our new members who joined us in 2010. Our total membership is 746 and growing, which represents the vast majority of  Producers in the battery and electrical  industry. WEEE Ireland is a truly Irish-owned compliance scheme. We assist our members in meeting their obligations under the Waste Battery and WEEE Regulations and provide them with a very cost-effective compliance solution.

Letter from the Chairman of the WEEE Ireland Board of Directors, Mr. Kieran Whelan

Dear Member,

I am happy to submit to you our annual report for 2010. Whilst our operations and volumes managed continued to improve you will see that this year we have seen
a significant reduction in the fee’s chargeable under the Producer Recycling Fund (PRF) contribution which in turn has led to a reduction in our deferred income by in excess of €2.3m. This is a trend that will continue as we have seen a further reduction in PRF charges in 2010 and at time of writing PRF’s have for all categories with the exception of Category 1 – Large Household Appliances (LHA) ceased.
